Where A Broken Heart Goes
15 November, 2006

May this day be blotted out
From all the days of history
And the warm rays of the sun
Cease ever to beam and warm my body
May rain fall hard upon me
And let my pain be washed away
Such that no word or thought or memory
Remain with those who knew me
Let no one call me friend or seek my council
Let me rest now for I am weary
My voice forever silent
My eyes forever dark
You shall find me resting
Where nightingale meets lark
On my head stone write
“He dared to hope and love most true,
Here his heart was slain and broken
And here his hope died too.”

------- Author's Notes -------

Thought I would write about lost love for a change.

Ing Twi Demalah

This is one hell of a good poem. It started out intriguing ---- by the end I was totally absorbed. Even in the winter of my years ---- I remember all too well. Will look forward to the next post from you.

Oh, Ing

This was stunning in it's painful beauty. WOW! I think every soul on the planet can relate to this feeling at least once in their life. Absolutely beautiful.

The king has returned!

Ing! Intriguing. Fascinating. I love the significance behind the rain falling and sun beaming in your poem. And the last four lines, must be about a grave sight right?

All in all, you've truly captured the essence of lost of love and all the pain that it includes!

MARVELOUS!

Rick, MC, Meri.........

I am not sure what to say except thank so much. I was trying to recall the pain lost love when I wrote this and then convey it. Again, the pen did the writing because this was a stream of thought poem and I was happy that it was done well enough to have earned your compliments. Thank you all, this is what inspires me to keep writing.

I must have missed this one.

May I climb aboard the wagon, and say that this is a great poem which reaches me to the core? What is expressed here is something I can really understand and appreciate. It expresses how I felt every time I loved and lost. I could never express it myself. I could never have imagined that it was possible to express.
After seeing this I may try again.
Ing, write on.

Yet you carry on

I loved your poem.I hope the last four lines were you putting the past to rest.As always I moved by your words and thoughts.

If only you knew ...

How your words have brought the sunshine by soft whisper. To long has past to hear the possible dance in a sigh.As always missing you in Colorado.
