Laying in that hospital bed
Started bringing tears to my eyes
I saw the expression upon her face
And all the pain she tried to hide
I dont think she saw him that way
Anytime before that
I wouldnt know what to say
The man in the bed was her dad

Its funny when you think
You can be strong
You stand up real stiff
So it seems like theres nothing wrong
You try to act alright
When you knw whats going down
Its hard not to cry
When her dads in that hospital gown

I wish i knew what to tell her
I wish i knew what to say
But i myself just a young girl
So what difference would it make
Ive been through this once before
I know how she feels
I wish i could comfort her
Cause what i went through was real

If something had happened to him
She always has someone to talk to
Her younger sister can be her friend
And Ill be here waiting for you
You dont have to be alone
I wont let you be
I couldnt be more happy to talk to you
Cause the same thing happened to me
