Asleep In Your Head

Joy and laughter reverberating around the room
Love and hope echoing through a tunnel
Dreams and wishes rest in your head
While you were asleep in your bed

Floating on your bubble up in the sky
Feelings of freedom and desire
Making its way closer to heaven
While you were asleep in your bed

Taking a step closer to death
With every minute that passes and makes you regret
The opportunities that have long passed
While you were asleep in your bed

An attack on civilization
Ruins to re-build
Families trashed and long forgotten
While you were asleep in your bed

Volcanoes erupt and engulf life
Forests are gone and flowers forgotten
People run screaming for the sea
While you were asleep in your bed

A whale thrashes in the sea
A glistening body gleaming in the sun
A movement in the forever unbroken ocean
While you were asleep in your bed

A blind man can see again
Small children play together in harmony
A puppy runs through the long grass
While you were asleep in bed

A river flows downhill
Dragging with it leaves and dirt
Washing away terrible sights
While you were asleep in bed

Valuable time is being missed
Important movements becoming history
The future is important
But the present is crucial
