River Of Hope

Amidst the shaking of the earth,
amidst the cataclysmic forces
and unnatural storms of rage,
a
peaceful
stillness
flows.
It is always there -
and surges with more force of hope
this time of year.
Mother Natures tears
have swelled into many turbulent rivers.
Yet, there is a certain stillness
that winds even through the horrors
of conflicts,
of greed,
of bad power,
and the consequences.
As pristeen as untrodden snow,
as the most starriest of nights,
the flow of hope
winds into this new year.
Some of us resist it.
Some of us do not see or feel it.
Many of us do and embrace it -
hope of peace for ones self -
for our communitys -
for mother earth -
for pure peace.
The sun glows bright
this morning,
the last day of this troubled year.
A quietness prevails .
The air sparkles crisp and fresh.
For this moment the earth smiles !!
