All Day Nightfall
12 January, 2007

This time of year...
as the days grow a little longer
and
the stark branches jutt out
into the infinite grey skies
and
as the aura of the nightime city
takes on eerie forms and misty shapes -
All day feels like nightfall.

I meander around and around
the long streets of hundred year old
grey stone houses
as twilight sets in
and
i hear Rufus Wainrights' version
of "Across the Universe "
streaming out of an opened window.
I find myself
blasting out
"Nothings gonna change my world !!"
"Nothings gonna change my world !!"
A strength surges from deep within.
The branches twitter.
My arms stretch out to touch
the sky where the stars used to appear.

This january nightfall wandering
has taken me right into the
very depths of this moment
and
that is happyness
and strength regained !!!!!
