Hello old friend, cheers to you
We'll have a time tonight.
The two of them in Madison
Should put on quite a fight.

Let's play some pool
Drink some beer,
Man, well have some fun.
Pass the cup, we'll roll the dice,
The night has just begun.

One, two, three, he's on one knee
The champ just hit the ground.
Get up you fool, get on the stool,
Else you'll the crown.

He came back strong those last few rounds
And fought back gallantly,
But down he went, the message sent
A win was not to be.

The clock is saying something
That we already know.
It's getting late, it's cold outside
I sure do hate to go.

We'll, here's cheers to you, my old friend
And old friends that we knew,
Until we can do this again,
May He watch over you.....

I must have missed this one.

This is really good. Lots of great lines.

The title, and also the content of your poem, remind me of the T.V. series "Cheers",
but in that series, one had to wait a while for the great lines. In both cases they are worth waiting for.
