Try A Little Kindness

A kind word or deed can change the color of the darkest day
A morning which began with overcast skies and shades of gray
Is suddenly transformed, and one’s world feels lighter and gay

How much effort does it take to offer a compliment or a pat on the back?
Many have lost the ability to communicate with courtesy or at least a bit of tact!
Being considerate these days is viewed as insignificant
Well, I disagree wholeheartedly, when I say
That an act of kindness is nothing short of magnificent

It just might be the difference between the road one chooses to travel
A soothing word may keep us from coming apart and unraveled

A simple act of kindness can add a smile to another’s face
Instead of being harsh and critical
Why not choose to behave
With a bit of sensitivity and bestow God's loving grace?

good for you

I agree but I'm guilty of saying what I like and dislike, but you are right with your writing. good going.

clarification

I agree with you to, it's fine to say what you like or dislike. We all are entitled to our own opinion. But the comments that I read that night towards others poetry, made me angry. It was not disagreement or constructive criticism, it was "pure" meaness and cruel. I guess I just don't understand why if someone doesn't like a particular write that they don't offer constructive critiscm or simply just say nothing at all.

Caty....Barb

Caty you sound like Barb. The common sense poems. The only difference is, her poems are succint and your poems are lenthy...but all the same, you both get straight to the point.
You're right Caty....an act of kindness is all it takes.
