I-10 My Golden Ribbon Road
8 February, 2007

the morning was a chill
my car and I in the desert trail
sunrise over mountains emotional thrill.
I-10 my golden ribbon road
engine running in tune
in my mind a memory load
my hometown soon.
see ribbon of lights just up ahead
against the mountains edge
my sensation feels like lead.
