Finding Colours

I can find colours
if I go
to different parts of town -
take the long bus rides and
walk and walk
into small alleyways and
streets of old houses
I had forgotten about
or not noticed in younger days.

The colours stand out
and I jump
to capture them on camera.
Do I enjoy the moment of
seeing them ?
of being there ?
Do I enjoy the moments of looking at
the pictures later ??

I search for more colours
of creativity and enjoyment and
fun and sun in this
snow covered city.
What answers lie in paint peeling
off old brick ??
on yellow - blue - red houses
that everyone is drawn to photograph,
yet noone wants to live in ??

I have to find the happiness
in white on white
and nightimes darkest shadows
before I can be free.
