I see the pain you try to hide; all the tears your heart has cried. I see the love you hide inside all to fight the pain…..

This love you hide is not for me, I just wanted to help you set it free. When love is gone, we try to hold on, to the love we had for the one that was wrong. It won’t bring them back or make it better, it won’t heal a broken heart back together. We try to preserve the love we feel, and tell ourselves “Only time will heal”. We have the power to heal our hearts, when we let go of the pain…the healing starts.

I am here in front of you, although when you see me, you look straight through. I tried to see to the other side of your wall. I wanted to know you, be there when you call. I see the man that hides behind, proud and cautious, gentle and kind. If she can’t see that, does she deserve, to have the love I could have earned? No one’s love is just given away. Nor is it a gift to be tormented or played. It is one though to give to those who can give it back, in time it grows.

It’s all about a lover’s smile, the look, a glance….risking it all to fall in love, risking it all, taking a chance.

You protect your heart behind barbed wire; you protect your mind with walls of fire. The fire is a flame that grew inside the day she walked away and caused this pain. I ask you what you feel inside. You become aggressive then you try to hide. You punish me for the pain she has caused, when all I asked was can we talk.

I care so much, I hurt so bad. You walked away shut down and mad. This preservation mode your in, the walls you built-I can’t get in. I tried to wait for you to come around. I didn’t talk, didn’t make a sound. I sat and waited for your call, the time you’d say we’d have it all. You never came around again, and now I am left with your residual pain.
