Shards Of Pain
9 March, 2007

Of broken heart, and tear filled eyes
she lay in shards of pain.
And for her babies she did try
her strength to regain.

But death held on tightly
to her fragile soul, and
there was nothing she could do
to make herself whole.

She watched her babies be taken
from her loving arms, and as each
one walked out that door
it ripped this mother apart.

She gasped for air, as tears did
roll down her gentle cheek,
There was nothing she could do
she was so very weak.

She closed her eyes, and said a pray
then fell into peaceful rest.
With the love of her children
cupped to her breast.
