Today I Buried You

I shredded up your playboy
and dug you a grave.
I knew this relationship
just couldn't be saved.

I boxed up all your pictures
tossed out your clothes, and
tonight I hold up my glass
giving myself a toast.

Goodbye to the old ways
and hello to the new.
See I told you I could make it
I never needed you.

So long football games,
cheap beer, and the mess.
Now I can relax, and
finally get some rest.

No more running behind you
picking up what you drop.
I told you sooner or later
that sh*t was gonna stop.

I've opened up the windows
and i'm seeing a brand new view.
D*mn life is starting to get better
now that i've buried you.

The house looks spectacular
it's never looked this great.
I knew I could make it on my own
I never needed a mate.

I'll go to bed when ready
and sleep all day too.
If you would of showed respect
I wouldn't of buried you.

But I don't need a man
hell I can take care of myself.
And now i've got the dog's pictures
setting on the shelf.

This living will be real nice
I'll come, and go as I please.
Momma always told me
a man was like a disease.

Today I buried you
I buried everything from my past.
I should of listened to momma
and never married your @ss.

ha ha Tammy

This is a good attitude of moving on after a break-up . Not needing a partner is the way you can take time to find the right one.Respecting you, respect of tideness, helpfulness.Good for you I like this write.

Question

You made it clear that you buried him, but you didn't elaborate on the good stuff. How did you kill him? Or, did you bury him alive? We need to know these things. Seriously, this is a good poem, and I found it amusing, but I'm glad I'm not the guy you buried.

I think she meant she left him and buried him with her thoughts. I hope that's how I took it anyway.
