Another Sleepless Night

"I believe this is going to be
Another sleepless night.
Way too many thoughts of
Home and things
I should've said."

Slowly I roll myself off my bed and
Somehow I manage to catch myself
Before I fall flat on my face.

"That was way too close."

I smile because I have that
Same thought every time I do that.
I stumble down the hall
And through the door.
It's so dark outside and kind of creepy.

"Damn it.
I knew I forgot something.
We'll try this again."

I go back to my room for
My pack of smokes.

"K.
Now I can enjoy this."

I sit on the porch and stare at the sky.
The lighter blinds me as I spark it.

"I hate it when that happens."

At the end of the building a
Green light and red light
Creeps around the corner.

"Eh.
Just two females out for
god knows what reason."

Their chatter stops as they pass me.

"What the fuck is that sound?
I know I've heard that before...

'Shit.'

The sound that followed
Nearly knocked those females
Straight on their asses.
Pissed of and partially
Through my smoke,
I toss the damn thing
Down and head inside.
The alarm sounds before I
Even open the door.
I say a few passing words to
My buddy and head back to bed.

"I believe this is going to be
Another Sleepless night."
