Hurt Like I Do

Warm tears flow,
as I try not to watch you go.
Your heart belongs to anyone but me,
still I'm the only one who will set you free.

Heart upon sleeve,
I give you room to breathe.
But I'm not the one who melts your heart,
I hear you walk away as you watch me fall apart.

Mind in tatters,
for I can't chase the one who matters.
Why can't I stand,
is it because I need your hand?

Do I plead,
will you take heed?
My words a whisper through the tears,
I try and I try but you cover your ears.

Can I run,
your ignorance has me in a stun.
The grip that used to be so tight,
I leave loose now as it doesn't feel right.

Alone I stand,
don't need your hand.
Now I walk away from you,
maybe now you'll HURT LIKE I DO?!?
