Sets You Free

Lost in time,
trying to figure out when you stopped being mine?
It's all so tough to digest,
that all this time I've been second best.

Hard I tried,
but my tears seem to feed your pride.
Why can't I be as unfeeling as you,
why don't you feel the way that I do?

Heart in smithereens,
we used to live for our dreams.
Now you blank me like I don't exist,
how can that be when we've kissed?

Felt your lips,
as you held my hips.
Looked into the eyes,
that moments later would be filled with lies.

What went wrong,
we waited so long.
You were the one I was so sure,
at first you seemed so vulnerable and pure?

Unanswered they will go,
I'll never hear what I crave to know.
So now I do what's best for me,
the heart that adored you now SETS YOU FREE!!!
