Evening Of The Third
4 July, 2007

Sitting, quietly listening as the water trickled from the waterfall. The warm water enveloping my body as I soaked. The scent on gunpowder wafted through the air. Spectacular bursts of lights flashed in the darkened sky; first in one direction and than another. Crackling pops were heard as sparkles shimmered and disappeared into a haze of smoke behind a nearby tree.

A smile appeared on my face in childlike glee at the unshared moment. Though there were many looking at the fireworks that filled the sky.. I could only think that I was the only one doing it from the comfort of my deck top hot tub.
