An Interesting World

An interesting world,
inside my head.
Reality blurs
as I take to bed.

Concerns of the day
should all take wing.
But then, there is
that other thing.

The Demons, legion,
come to play.
One special Devil,
I'd like to slay.

Self pity and need,
that's his name.
Stop! Go Away!
This is no game.

I am a man,
Adult for certain.
Yet I can't bring down
this Evil curtain.

Oh, why can not
others see,
the real, the honest,
frightened me?

This act I perform
is all for show.
I just can not
let her know.

Rejection, hurt,
I hold inside.
To torture me,
They do abide.

Confess! Tell all!
I yell at me.
I know not how
to make her see.

Return my heart!
I cry in vain.
I wish that would let
you love again.

Yes, an interesting world
inside my head.
As I take to my empty bed.

Poetry must run in the family

Hey Dennis! I take it, from the way Zach called you uncle that you are his uncle as well as Luke Mudge's? And that Shiloh is your brother? You all have gifts and what's more, it's hereditary. Passed on from generation to generation. Now that's beautiful.

Don't we all have worlds in our heads, that we create or sometimes don't even invite in..
Interesting! Awesome Dennis!

Thank you Meridian

Thank you,,,They say you can choose your friends but not your family. There is no blood tie with the Mudges', but I couldn't have chosen a better family.
