Fallen Angels

One day I found an angel sitting in the sand
I saw her wing was broken so I offered her my hand
I could tell she had been hurt by her fall from grace
and I knew that she was lost, being in this place
Her halo was bent a little, but it too could be repaired
all that it would take would be a little love and care
So I helped her to her feet and she put her hand in mine
I told her it would be o.k, but it may take some time.
I asked her what had happened, she said she'd lost her way
I told her I could relate, for I too had done the same
So we talked for hours of things both good and bad
She told me of her mother, I told her of my dad
We talked of childhood pleasures, we talked of days gone by
We talked of painful moments that made us almost cry
The longer that we talked the more I fell in love
With this fallen angel that fell from up above
So that night while she laid sleeping, I prayed without a sound
I asked god to let me keep this fallen angel that I found
He said " My son you did not find her, I put her in your way
So she could bring you back from where you went astray"
"I do not understand" was all that I could say
"she's the one who needed me when I found her today"
He said " Yes,Yes, My son, I know that much is true
But the way that you saw her is the same way she saw you"
He said " You'll understand if you open your eyes and see
for you both are fallen angels brought together by destiny."

WOW! INCREDIBLE!!

LCN, i just got through readin' your 7 poems--my words can not begin to express how wonderful they are because i do not think that words alone can share in the feelin' of the meanin' ..other than they are heart tuggin' each one shows such great craftsmanship, a fine paintin' of a carin' heart...expressed feelin's that we have all experienced at one point in our Journey in life--your writin' allows us to walk away with that good intense touchin' feelin---knowin' that we will be back---thank you for sharin' such loveliness---
thank you for sharin' a part of your heart--this deserves a Standin' Ovation !!! Terrie*

I haven't the words.

All I can say is "What a beautiful story".
Sometimes I forget what "infinite wisdom" means, but this refreshes my memory, and my spirit.

Thanks

I have read all of "yalls" poems. I really enjoy this site. I haven't had a lot of time to post on here like I want. I have tons of others that I will eventually get around to posting. Thank you for the comments . It means a lot.
Shan , I can really relate to your poetry about family and hoe #$%#@ed that they can make a person. But to quote someone " We are not a product of our enviroment, our enviroment is a product of us". We must be able to rise above all the problems that we are dealt in life. Thanks for your contributions to this site. Thanks to you all.

Bravo! Bravo! Oncore! Oncore!

I loved it! I love it! I love it! Mainly because it sounds like the most adorable and romantic love story-you know, like Romeo and Juliet, Lancelot and Guinevere! So Beautiful! So Precious! So absolutely LOVEly! It's like most of the romance stories I like to read about, with poetry..it makes it all the more beautiful. Definitely keep posting your poems on this site. You definitely have a gift to share with your fellow poets! Very Good Job! Keep writing, we'll keep reading!
