Is this pain unbearable
as I tear into my skin
do I need reminded
I'm alive
and able to feel
is the scar you left on my heart
any less of a sin
or do I welcome your rage
as you punish me again and again
I should have been blind to your ways
but I fell for you
a feeling so numb to my senses
but still holding back the words
that would release me from this hell
so this pain I feel
is my reminder
that I am alive
just not to you
