Dreams

Today as I'm at work
your face, it flashes
through my mind.

The night we held
each other tightly
replays over and over.

I just can't seem
to get you off my
mind today.

We had the world
at our finger tips,
yet we couldn't reach it.

I have only one regret,
and that was not
telling you how I felt.

I can see us together
but this is only true
at night in my dreams.

I feel your hand gently
brush against my cheek
then I wake up to reality.

They say if you have
a dream more than once
it is bound to come true.

To me this only happens
in the fairy tales of which
we can only dream of.

For me this dream
will never come true
since you are with her.

I hope you are happy
with your life because
I am moving on with mine.

Now all that you are
is a thing of the past
and not here now.

The flame we once had
will soon be extinguished
by the cold hard truth.

You are now taken
and so am I, yet not
by a man but by dreams.

Dreams that will never
come true, that will
cease to exist as we know it.

So for me this is
Good-Bye and now the
time has come to move on.
