All These Things

Green fields spring to life again
Wild flowers of different hues;
Blend their fragrance with the breeze
Beneath Irish skies of blue.

The moon pulls surf upon the shore
Moving pebbles make a noise;
They sound like Spanish castanets
As they dance with grace and poise.

The crystal drops of rain still fall
To feed the trickling streams;
They run back home to mother sea
Who surrounds this Isle of dreams.

The aroma of sweet burning turf
Like incense, fills my soul;
It permeates Atlantic clouds
Which constantly patrol.

The raucous sound of sea birds call
As they cavort in endless flight;
The wild freshness of the morning
And the soft hush of twilight.

Yet all these things I would forsake
If together we could be;
I will wait for you as ever
Beside this timeless sea.

Really good!

Wow, man, the images in this piece ("atlantic clouds", "mother sea" etc) really work well, and the cadence of the poem is superb!

Sigh

Sean, like an artist you packed so much life of beauty gently into every chosen word and combined them very carefully with so much of life lived thoughts i am sure when you created such an exquisite masterpiece thoughts alone are so breathtakin'

I agree with Amy. Beautiful is the right word.

That's one of the most beautiful pieces of poetry I've read in some time.
