Never Too Old
2 October, 2002

To watch, a little baby grow, into a young child
The very inportant, learning years, that has taken awhile
To see their smiles, their fears, and so many tears
Seems like yesterday I saw their first day, where did they go? The years?
Seeing them cry over anything, a bump, and a fall
Now to hear them actually express their own ideas, views, and what they can recall
Like I'm talking, to a little adult, catches me off guard
I tend to forget he's only eight, now so independent, and knows what he like
Seems like yesterday, he asked if I could tie his shoes, and go on a hike
Watching his daddy and him play, remembering when his daddy, was little too
Where has all the years gone? Have I gotten that old, and the years I remember are few?
To play with toys with them, making up games, and watching cartoons too
I feel like a kid again, remembering those times of "Howdy Doody," and "Mr. Magoo"
I look in the mirror, the kid is gone, but there
A child showed me, your "never to old" to play with toys, where's that talking teddy bear

Yes

Yes where have all the years gone - find myself saying that so often. They say as you get older you go into your second childhood -well it's a good excuse to play! I sometimes find myself watching childrens TV & missing watching it with my kids. Where do the years go?
