You Come And Go

Never knowing when you will knock,
Never knowing when it’s my company you need,
Waiting here were you hide,
You come just when I think you’ve gone,
Thought you had left many years ago,
Only to find you hide well within,

You remind me of years now passed in time,
You remind me you still control my thoughts,
You never ask but invade my brain,
You’re never wanted can you not see?
My life you disrupted in so many ways.

Part of me you’ll always be,
Guess we are stuck together you and me,
You’re never wanted this I accept,
You are part of me I have to see,
I missed you back when you left,
Now you’ve returned I want you to leave,
Crazy I know, feeling this way,
Guess I’m used to you in a mixed up way.

Just remember, in this day and age,
Finding a pill will make you leave,
So if you’re to stay just stay on my side,
By giving me a warning when you want to play,

Blaming you for things in my head,
Blaming you for the pain caused to me,
Blaming you seems to work out in time,
Blaming you for my neuron misfortunes,
Electricity flows through my brain,
Turning off senses that without I’m deaf,
Guess I’m faulty to all who get near,
Guess I’m damaged goods to most who fear.

So it’s you and me,
Till the end of this trip,
In a minuet you'll be gone,
And I'll fear you no more

WOW! powerful poem!

i read this as a health battle... perhaps of an existing neuro ailment/disorder that becomes absent for a short/long period... resurfaces without warnin' meds allow it to tuck itself away safely and secretly.away from sight. yet your happy because it is under control. your thoughts are like, at least when your struck down with it and it has been with you for a while, you've gotten to know what to expect. BUT... when you think that it is gone , you fear it the most ,because you don't know what it may do upon it's return at that point your under its control..
wonderful way to express such thoughts..

Thank You

your perception of this poem was spot on Terrye, I tried to convey the history past and now about the seizures I sometimes have.
Thank you for reading and thank you for knowing this side of me.
