Locked In The Labyrinth

Here alone,
Amongst a sea of people.
Lost in a maze
Knowing i’m at the Center
But knowing not shall i do.
Shall i go East,
Or go West?
Is that to be my escape?
If that be true,
What be i escaping from?

Questions, questions,
What shall i do?
What is known for certain
I do know a thing,
Or two, or three;
Here at the Center
The clock stands ticking
‘Tick-tock,
Tock-tick…”

Lost in a crowd,
A sea of knowers,
Knowing i am the unknower.
I shall explore, yes i shall:

Left
Right…

What is this place?
There seems to be a double image.
A mirror in the middle dividing.
It is beauteous yet,
It is a mechanical scheme.
What ever shall i do?

Go Left?
Go Right?

Look there’s a cat,
And a few fat squirrels,
Do they know where i shall go?
How could they?
They are trapped too,
They must be.

Could there be magic afoot?
Maybe a sorceress in hiding,
Turning men to animals.
Once they have given in to defeat.

I shall fight on,
I will survive.

What may these be?
Counters, or milestones,
Or tombstones?
They mark the number of fallen,
Marking with it not a survivor.

I will stand against this mark.
It will mark at least a one to pass by.
If i wait a little of a while
Exploring, searching, the way will come,
It will show itself.

Just hold in there
Keep up the fight
All that’s left is to wait.
