The Hole

It grows even larger as time goes along
Before I even noticed, my heart was almost gone
I don’t know where it started or how it all began
I just knew that I could feel it every now and then
I’ve learned to live with it, as best as I can
But it’s slowly overcome me and turned me into this man
Now I no longer care if I live or die
Why should it matter, life’s nothing but a lie
The things people say and the things people do
Doesn’t mean a thing when it’s consuming you
So I just sit and wait while it tears my life apart
‘Cause I know I can never fill “the hole” that is my heart
