The Two Worlds In My Life

Two worlds,
There are two worlds
In which i live.
My home in one,
My daily rituals in the other.

Awake from bed,
Step into the car,
It is white, all that i see.

There is fog impairing my sight
For the snow melts up into the air.
I take a slow drive through my world,
To be safe, as i go along
It is all white around me
A few more feet... then nothing.

There is no white.
It is clear and sunny.
The air all around me is merry.
I can speed up to the limit
And continue on my way.

But i am lost in thought,
My subconscious self left behind.
I envision that barrier between:

One world
And the other.
My house in one,
White from fog
And premature snowfall;

My life in the later,
All wet with rain, but green
And warm much comparably more
Than the world disappearing behind my car.

There is no fire
But no lack of ice.
The world of snow;
A world with rain.
Tonight i shall journey
Back up to my winter wonderland
...yet again.

winter wonderland

Brings back memories of winter drives home from work. A white out masking everything from view.. And as suddenly as it started it was gone.. There is such beauty in the snow.. and the rain... we some times just have to look harder..
