When folks sing the blues -
they start diggin' and diggin'
into what makes them blue -
chiselin' and repeatin'
until these blues start to leave their system
and the singin' overpowers the troubles -
a lover leavin',
being poor,
or just feelin' bluer than blue
from being blue too long,

Well, i got them anxiety blues -
anxiety blues that take my shoes
everywhere.
Along the way
i find a window
of normal feelin'.
The spring flowers movin'
and groovin' in the may winds.

Sittin' on a swing and just relaxin',
those anxiety blues
get to every part of me
until i'm tired,
tired, draggin' along
just to get along -

Got to get rid of these anxiety blues.
It's rainin' all over town.
I got to wipe that frown from my brow,
got to get happy,
got to get rid of these anxiety blues.

Since i don't sing,
gotta do something else.
Gotta repeat a mantra over and over -
mantra myself -
chant myself -
outta these anxiety blues,
over and over when they hit me hard,
i gotta repeat the mantra.

aum aum aum aum

until i'm mad from chantin'-
crazy with repetition -
but i'll do almost anything
to rid myself
of these old anxiety blues.
