Search On A Sailboat
20 March, 2009
Author: Newage Caveman
The journey begins on a quiet country harbor
With seething waves leaving the shore
John sets his sail towards the island
Bidding adieu to his family of four.
As he starts rowing westward
A rough wave snarls at him in surprise
It was clear and present danger
But he wanted to stay alive
John survives the westward wave
And rows and rows along
As he tries to tread further
He begins to hear a song
He hears the sound of a flute
And wonders if someone was playing a trick
But, soon he realized it was he alone
And starts swaying to the music
As he sways to the dulcet tunes of the flute
His boat begins to wobble
The ferry overturns to his dismay
Leaving him inside the rubble
John was not a meek man
He had belief in himself and beyond
If faith could move mountains
“It will save me!” he cried along
John saw a wooden lumber
That came floating with the wave
He crawled on top of it
And began to faint away
As he wakes up in awe and wonder
He hears a huge thud
He is surrounded by his wife and sons
Near his broken bed
Courage, valor and love were the lessons
The lessons that John learnt from his dream
A sail that carried his thoughts away
To a place that he had never seen.
Life‘s search for real meaning
Begins on a vessel afloat on the sea.
A lonely man’s quest for truth and honor
Ends with many memories...
