To Daddy Dear
Author: Anjali Thapa

Lullaby and mustard oil
Chubby cheeks, broken - wheeled buggy
Itís time I conceived
My girlfriendsí stood lucky
Daddy, I need a baby
If itís anything I want more
Itís just got to be her
Staggering of her unsure feet
Baby frocks and fairy tales
Toothless smiles, silver- mouthed anklets
Itís time I suckled
My breasts are still barren
Darling, I need a dolly
If itís anything I need more
Itís just got to be it
Rhythm of her sweet gibberish.
