Cold Winds And You

Chilling days -
Winds race
to wrap
their stingers
around those
who dare to go outside.

Running winds -
from all directions -
in competition with each other.
The savage cold breezes blow
warnings to humans.

City nature is wrapped
around with thin sheets of ice -
warms the tree trunks -
insulates homes
for small animals.

I walk with heavy steps -
a heavy heart.
You are warm
in your small apartment -
small man -
chain smoking.
Heat burns your organs -
cuts deeply.
You feel the sting of warnings -
continue to indulge
in destructive rituals,
in your overheated studio.
Your electric blanket
short circuits.
You think you have had an epiphany.
Your avatar is real.

I hike to the bus -
relief from the massive
tickling of the winds.
They smile -
playful yet brutal.
They are youngsters,
gleefully producing
storms and traffic jams.
I here them screaming
around corners of large buildings
which make them go crazy with wild freedom.

Respect for the winds -
the winds of change,
blow on my brow,
landing hard crystals of snow,
melting down my face.
I need a plan.
The winds know this.
They give me direction.
I head east.
You sip on your coffee -
never venturing outside -
rarely experiencing
winters changes.

I appreciate the cold winds.
I have no more words left for you.
