Personality Quirks

vinebar

I don't mean to come across as a prude,
But inconsideration and talk about sex.
I think is rude.

I know I shouldn't judge,
but your vocabulary and your actions,
is what I decide gives your personality a smudge.

My personality quirk rudeness and crass talk.

an oldie write

I overheard a conversation in the donut shop. saying f this and f that and this girl I met last night was f-ing into me. To me I judged him as a jerk.no one I wanted to get to know.

I agree Barb!

You know, my son says that f-ing word every 2 sentence. I tried to coreect him, and my 2nd wife is mad at him. He's 36 yrs. old. What should I do? If he was little, I would wash his mouth out with Borax, or comet, maybe lye soap. But he's bigger and stronger then me. I have to know him because he's my son. I can't even get him to stop smoking. I don't do any of those and I know he didn't get that from me. Barb, I think I'll shoot him! (joking) Giveup Dad

just ignore him

tell him you won't listen to what he has to say if he keeps using foul language . it bothers you so please when you are talking don't use that word. Other people think you are stupid and that's the only word you know, and as your father I know you aren't stupid.that's the only advice I can give, good luck

Thanks Barb!

I appriciate the advice. He lives hundreds of miles from me and I see him once a year(lucky). He has his own son, sees him on supervised visits. I shall ask him if he talks that way around his 4 yr. old? Thanks Barb! Have a great day! Nice poem by the way! Personality quirks! I've read your poems for years and enjoy them all. Keep writing to us.

sorry I can't help more

I hope he doesn't talk like that around his boy.
You are welcome for the advice, to bad he lives so far away you can't have an influence on him.

swear words

maybe he is borderline tourette's. I can relate to this one I am a cronic curser it also runs in my family. Also, Along with the rest of the world I have a mental health diagnosis. Basically a curse word is a passionate word you use to put emphasis on things possibly to get attention or a cry for help or if nothing else a calling to be a truck driver or a mechanic. Being I am one chronically involved in the misuderstanding of life I am annoyed at the pleasant misuderstandings we get to know as incoviences. Maybe the swear word is his only release of expression maybe you could trick him into making a curse word poem that is a start.

Thanks Tommyg!

Tommyg thanks! For the insight coming from the other side of one, who is one. A chronic curser, maybe it's mental health, or bring to attention, even a cry to be something, basically a misunderstood annoyance and inconveniently troubling to others, his job, or those close to him. I think you hit the nail in the head. Thanks! Have a great day Tommyg and write more poems for us.
