Fly From Me

In the dirt,
lies the ribbon that binds my hurt.
Silken and soft to the touch,
holding me together when it all becomes too muuch.

Beneath my feet,
lays this silky bow that makes my heart meet.
Gentle, tender and coloured baby blue,
when it enfolds me I feel brand new.

Slipping from my hands,
like the finest of warm sands.
Is this vital piece,
that holds tight every crevice and crease.

With the breeze,
it blows though I try to seize.
Its strength once more,
I fear of letting it go.

Hungry hands fail to catch,
this piece of fabric I've relied on like a patch.
Rattling against the gale,
my broken heart I feel unveil.

Tonight I espy,
this soft ribbon soar so high.
Through tear-filled eyes I see,
this tiny ribbon FLY FROM ME!!!
