Pain

Pain...
Whether emotional or physical
Can be debilitating
If we allow it to be

We all have pain we deal with in our lives
Every day we all have issues to deal with
That cause us pain in one form or another
The way we choose to deal with it determines our fate

We can choose to lay down
And accept that what is happening is right
Or what we "deserve"
Or we can stand up and say
"Not today, today I will not be defeated"

The way we choose to react will determine a lot
It will determine how we live our lives...
From day to day, week to week,
Month to month and year to year

If we choose to lay down one time
It gets harder to stand up the next time
It becomes a lot easier to become a victim of circumstance
And say that we are powerless to do anything about it

But, if we choose to fight,
Stand up and say, "I will not be defeated"
We will find the strength
Either from inside us
Or from the people around us that see the fight
And want to be on the winning side

It is natural to say
"Not today, I'll fight tomorrow"
But tomorrow will bring its own struggle
So you have to fight each day
And not be afraid to ask for help when the fight gets too hard

All you have to do
Is choose to continue the fight and not lose hope
The fight is usually winnable
As long as you choose to fight it
Day by day, week by week
Month by month and year by year
