New Hope

Once more I try,
to set words to rhyme,
my heart at a standstill,
my imagination running dry.

I used to write,
about my feelings within,
the anger,
the pain,
the depression boiling within.

The scars on my arms will always remain.

That rebellious spark,
that my boyfriend tries to tame.

My love for the ocean,
recently rediscovered.

Soothing words of hope,
from my very loving mother.

I am living life now,
not the person i once was.
mistakes have been made...
there was lots of blood...

So each day i wake up,
I secretly smile,
because if not for the trials I went through,
the life I have,
would not be worthwhile.

------- Author's Notes -------

It has been ages since posting on here. I have mostly overcome my depression, and I haven't cut in 3 years. With my extreme emotions gone, my poetry seemed to follow. Thought I would try my hand again.

Passions

Hi Senko I understand this poem completely. I think we all go through our growing and learning and sometimes seem to lose something valuable to ourselves in the process. Never fear. The poetry never leaves us forever. It just waits in the background for the right passion/muse to again respark the poetic nature in us all.

I am glad to hear you have been cut free for 3 years.. Hope it continues on... Best to you oh and btw.. good write
