Beauty On Bricks

Sunday stroll -
she walks into adventure,
casts away some cares and worrys.
She jumps off the bus
into the damp cold air,
into the world she visits
every fall -
into alleyways,
of fences,
writings -
expressions of frustration,
of jubilation,
scrawls and paintings,
amidst urban leaves
turning colours,
yellow red
leaves twist and turn,
pose,
gently fall.

Cunchy sidewalks
couples taking walks,
dining in resto bars,
savouring early October air.

Silent excitement -
she clicks her camera
up and down streets
of old balconys and
peeling painted houses,
verandas, decoratif motifs.

Her happy fingers
feel the paint strokes.
The mountain sprouts
layers of fall coloured foliage.
Her beating heart gets louder.
She makes friends with the streets
in this trendy
old part of town.

Alone she wanders -
content -
She finds beauty on bricks.
