Precious Destruction

vinebar

Sleeping wide awake in a jangled
toned down perfect state of rest.
Open eyes closed to the
magic that flings itself
against the dangling walls
of the cage.
"Let me out" gasps the solitude
"I must be away and free"
Hidden drinks of potion masking
passion-less dragons
that fly across the deepness
of the blizzard.
"Let me breathe" whimpers the voice
"Let me be, let me free"
Standing naked with all my
clothes on inside of a walled
enclosure that circles
around the mind.
Dipping potential that
escapes and rushes into
the insipid light.
"Let me go" hurts the man
"let me stand on my own feet"
Dropping lizards that lick their lips
at the pleasure of the
death of the troll.
Happy are the insects
that eat at the flesh
on the bones.
Skeleton of despair
that flings his hair
upon the toxic waste
of the world.
"Let me insist" snaps the mouth
"at the beginning of the storm"
Rain clouds gather overhead.
Dungeons where caverns are deep
and lost enclosing the
stones that fall from
the lips.
Heavy drugs of other beliefs
that threaten to mock the
very ground they
are dashed upon.
"Leave me alone" bleats the sheep
"Leave me alone so that I may fly"
Rocking and rolling melodies
harshly glare upon the
fresh face of
the clock.
The time is almost up and
I have hardly moved.

I surrender.

Only a smile celebrates the defeat.
