My Love, My Rose, My Curse
2 June, 2011
Author: Ing Twi Demalah
My sweet Rose
Oft I have set to pen my love to you
How be it that it seems all words pointless
For what shall I compare to you
What words are left un-penned for you
My Rose, my bitter sweet love
Both my blessing and my curse.
Blessed to have you
And yet cursed to ever need you
To miss even the scent of you
To never again be whole lest I be with you
With you being more than the sum of who I am
Being without you, not half the man I once was
Caught in the strange dichotomy
That I, desiring not love
Have myself become part of love
Thus who I am and what I am
Becoming the very essence of such
And able, not with vain words
But with every shared kiss
With every time your eyes meet mine
With every passing glance
With every smile
You in my arms and I in thine
With my very life say, “I love you”
And so I do
I Love You
