Revenge
Author: Meridian Zuriel

vinebar

Getting even may feel good
But itís not good
Itís not a smart resolution
The result of dumb actions
Ainít worth the retribution
Revenge can beget regret
Tit for tat ainít cool
Itís the action of a fool
Back down
And I say again
Let the other person win
And be the bigger person
In the end
It ainít worth giving in
They ainít worth impressing
It ainít worth the bills
The money owed
It ainít worth estrangement
It ainít worth your two cents
It ainít worth your friendship
It ainít worth tragedy
It ainít worth the headache
It ainít worth the wounds
It ainít worth the regret
It ainít worth court costs
It ainít worth your reputation
It ainít worth your soul
If they want to be the champion
Then they can have the title
Itís better to be wise and commonsensical
Avoid the reprehensible
And be sensible
Donít let an egging on
Fuel the fire
Cause either you or the accused
Will pay for something or someone
When allís done
So ignore
And let them act immature
Donít jump on the kiddy bandwagon
Go about your destination
Without hesitation
Regardless of how much
Theyíre in your ear
Shouting insults and obscenities
Being a vindictive enemy
Giving vulgar gestures
If they continue to pester
Then either leave if you can
Or call the cops if you can
For your safety and security
Until theyíre arrested and sent to jail
So that you can air out your balloon
After waiting to exhale
