Memories

Thoughts are chasing memories around her head as a once broken heart breaks a little again. A tear escapes eyes that closes against the pain her smile hides. Memories of long ago flash like lightning and fall like acid rain, battering a soul like a tidal wave. Another smile as her nails dig rivers of crimson in fisted palms. One more memory as the flashes fade, remembering eyes of a love who walked away.

Nice poem

I remember the tear in her eye, & wondering what's wrong? Maybe we should be just friends, and see other people? I knew it was over, that instant. Walked out that door and never look back. But the memories & thoughts, still haunts. ---Nice poem Nikki
