Thoughts And Memories

The thoughts whisper a bit louder
than the memories;
they must, as the memories
are older, and therefore stronger,
and do not need to seek attention...
They have the advantage of time
and are therefore well known
to the one who carries them.
The thoughts, being young,
being new, in fact,
are unsure of themselves,
so the need to gain attention
seems to be important.
But they will learn,
as the memories will teach them,
that attention is given
where it is of merit.

The memories are already in the heart.. There are some things I wish that the memories would never teach them... I enjoyed this poem and the way it gave life to the thoughts and memories... Not that they already didn't have a life of their own.... ;) |
