Beautiful Baroque Angel Of Ebony

I am black as Hershey.
My hair is dark as night.
My thick tresses wrap around my neck and down my back.
My robe is half off-white and half peach. A golden belt rests just above my waist and below my chest. Bernini might’ve crafted the curves in my robe. See how it curls up as if it’s flowing around me.
One of my ebony feet peers underneath my garment, as I stand on a white rock (revealing a touch of quartz) mixed with lines of blue. My rock rests on a round, mahogany platform of solid finish.
I am in spiritual ecstasy, as I hold a cluster of red roses in a heavy sea-colored cloth, which wraps around my body.
My poise suggests that I am dancing. My arms are curved in and the impression of one knee juts out, while the other knee is more relaxed.
A red reef of roses rests on top of my head.
The top portion of my wings – made of gold and white – are comprised of leaf-shapes. They continue all the way down to the middle of my back, where they stop abruptly. The bottom portion of my wings is comprised of deep, white grooves. Gold lines rest between the white grooves slanting inward.

***

I feel your hands as they touch me and your eyes as they study me. (Know that) if my sculpted, painted lips could talk and if I had activity of my limbs, this is what I would do. I’d gently set my blanket of roses down on the rock, look straight into your brown eyes of longing, stretch out my arms and say: Come fly with me.
