With You Again

Had I then but known
The awaiting of such desolation
As that which now haunts me
The sting of death
Which lay upon my heart
A dispiriting, dark, shadow
My afflicted soul set adrift
Upon forgotten seas
Forlorn tides of fractionated memories.
The glint of eye’s light
Perfumed air’s sweet savor
The clemency of loving touch
Which through silence
Avowed all things desired or shared
Breathed yet un-voiced
Splintered love too marred to mend
Oh avarice for one last kiss
I wish I were with you again

------- Author's Notes -------

Ah regretful and Bitter sweet memories of lost love.

Loving for today

Such is the love shook out.Seen by one, tossed about by loves changeable tides.Pray kind poet, has the love born in your youth.Made you so shy to reach out?

If love born in youth.......

be also born of truth, then one can by no means shy away from it. No Colo, for though this may speak of the pain of lost love, is love not worth it? Yea, and even the more so, for even knowing how the love of which i speak would end, yet still would I, with eyes open go through it again even though the out come may not change. For wisdom may be gain youthful exuberance for love remains. Indeed lost love is still loveand perhaps more precious for its absence.

To love is to truely live

Love gained now is thus more dear.Seen through clear eyes not cover in starry mist.Love when real can not be brushed aside.Breath in deep and fill the heart and soul.Love is worth every tear and joy.Oh kind poet I say dare to love dare to live!

To live and love......

there in do leasons lie which may not be told, but only experienced. To stumble in life's path that we may learn to pick ourselves up. To have lost love that we may learn all the more to love unconditionally, selflessly. Least at any time we take life and love for granted. May it never be so, rather to savor life's every breath as though it were our last and tremble at love's every kiss as though it were our first. To look with child like wonder at both, to live to our fullest and love to our fullest. Leaving our hearts open, un-hindered to share with all whom we may meet. Behold gentle Colo all my poems, behold my heart, behold mine soul, behold both loving to live and loving to love. Daily I drink deeply of both. :-)

What a heady brew !

I have walk beside you.It is your warmth I feel as the sun shine upon my face. Your fingers as the wind blow through my hair. I have known you many times.

To taste it from your lips.I see you, i walk with you.Oh kind poet, you heart and soul touch mine deeply.Thou the distance may be great i carry you with me.you are there in the warmth of the sun.The wind in my hair a whispered word in bird song.Sigh...

Wow.....

that was fun, rarely do I engage in such warm banter and I do so apreciate the challenge you put forth. I believe the makings of an entirely new poem can be found in our back and forth posts. Thank you for your posts Colo and keep writing my poetic friend.
