A Good Day

Today was a good day, drugs were sold shots were fired and people died as people often do, but within the boundaries of my concrete jungle, today was a good day because it happened to no one that i knew.

I live in the midst of Saten's den, a place infested with a plague of ignorance, hopelessness, drugs and guns. A place where the life expectency of a young black man is less than twenty one.

A place where the elderly live in constant fear and the youth are seduced by genocidal solutions to a better way of life, a place where you can find a church on every street corner. Each one inside proclaiming to have discovered God's awsome power, but it is amazing how that power never makes it's way out side.

A place where politicians with lying tongues pretend to represent the poeple's concerns, the truth of the matter is they only represent themselves and would promise the people of the concrete jungle eternal life for just one more elected term.

Safe and sound my two arrive at home avoiding the temptations and pitfalls along the way...safe and sound my children arrive at home today was indeed a good day!
