Hollywood Love

What is love if not but a dream, a dream that never will come true
What is love if not but a lie just told to carry us through

Too many times we watch on screens the greatest love unfold
And wait to hear a song of love that has yet to be told

Too many of our thinking caps are filled with hearts and flowers
Too often do we fall victim to loves imagined powers

"But love is strength, love is undying, love is what gets us through
Love is hope, love is faith, and love will come to you"

Silly girl, don't you think I'd welcome it, hold tightly if I could
Or can you not see that love has sold out....Love has gone Hollywood

------- Author's Notes -------

This is about how movies and love songs, tv shows, are portraying love in an unrealistic manner. Everyone expects a happy ending, or a perfect love...in reality, that doesn't exist for everyone...and then nothing seems good enough.

Love it Linzay!

That's just like the "...and they lived happily ever after" fairytale stories we so often see.
