If I Die Tonight

"If I die tonight...I die a happy man :)...Good family...good friends ..V peace Out"

His final posted words of his day, his night, his life

No one knew it was this bad
That after telling his wife he loved her
And admitting online to his friends that he was an alcoholic
He would decide he had enough of life

So many saddened hearts left behind
Children, friends, acquaintances, wife
Broken hearts, dreams destroyed
Leaving behind the lonely gaping hole

I guess he lived a full life
He thought he had
Never seeing his children married
Never to meet unborn grandchildren

He gave up on life just as life settles in
Children grown and moving toward lives of their own
A time to enjoy being the boyfriend to his wife once again
But he didn't know... He never will

In the now mournful darkness, a woman weeps & children cry,
'What if's', and 'What did I do's' prevail
Thoughts that will never again leave their hearts
as they remember him

As he posted the last 5 pictures of his family
I wonder if he already knew; if the choice had been made
Was he leaving them a message that he loved them
I like to believe he was

"If I die tonight...I die a happy man :)...Good family...good friends ..V peace Out"
