Freedom

What can you say
about human rights?
They belong to glittering
red movie stars,
or the pinstripes of
oppressive billionaires?
They belong to policemen
who try and lay down
the laws -
in black and in white
No, I don't think so
I think these ghouls
are disappearing...

We scrounge for
the copper
Trying to make
ends meet
A better world
than mindless unclear
visions show us...

We vote for politicians
who promise this
We speak our minds
as loud or as soft or timid
as we can

But we're broken
Busted like blown glass
shattering in our faces
The land of the free
the global world
needs education
right now
lots of it...

We have crashed madly
down another level
We have to transcend
get our heads out of
the sand
and
open our eyes...
