Illicit Bloom

It’s ornamental blossoms were appealing to the eye, and gloriously scented fragrance enchanting. I was lost, consumed by its decorative facade, not thinking about how and why it came to be nor what it truly was.

Realization as I planted a seed in fertile soil. Tending to its every want and need; like water, nurture, love and attention, yes it grew and it flourished. Like magic, without touching.

Curiosity and stupidity got the best of me or shall I say the worst of me. Deciding to ignore the facts and warnings, the obvious dangers.

Very attractive, gloriously scented,

So I partook of the its fruits and ingested it's toxic secrets.
