Happy Birthday, Lucas

At 8:48 this morning, Christmas Eve,
you turned 32 years of age.

I hope your day of celebration was good for you.

I pray that you have all that you have wanted,
all that you have sought,
everything that is important to you.
I truly mean this.
I wish for you a year ahead of good things,
happiness, smiles, small accomplishments,
and feelings of contentment.

In the next year I hope you have no problems,
I hope you have things
work out the way you want them to,
I hope you find smooth trails,
rather than rocky ones.

May no ills befall you,
may no hurts approach you,
may no sadness impede your stride.
May you always have reasons to smile.

In whatever you do,
in every decision,
may you know you are doing what is right for you.

In your thoughts, in your dreams,
may you find the reasons for going forward,
for taking that next step,
and for seeking the unknown around the next curve.

May you have peace and love and happiness,
everywhere you look,
everywhere you are.

To others, be kind.
To yourself, be even more kind.

Happy Birthday, Lucas.
You are loved.
