Bewilderment

Finding shattered safety glass
Amid morning coffee cups
And papers scattered o'er the floor-
As cold rain falls,
As cold rain falls.

The timing's lost,
And so are thoughts,
That once were begging to be let out,-
But there's no need, now,-
You can see,
Yes, you can see.

Inside your walls you claimed were yours,
Safely wrapped in warmth, and yet,
Finding only what it seemed;
Was not that what it seemed
As cold rain falls,
As cold rain falls.

Blindly staring 'round the room,
You search for things not seen or heard,
And ask for answers to your mind,
Because without them, you are blind,
As cold rain falls,
As cold rain falls.

Succumbing, finally, to it all,
You slump, you stumble,
Perhaps you fall.
It matters not,
No more, at all-
As cold rain falls.
