I walked by you today
tried to smile
but I was frozen
by the sheet of ice
that was your face
a frigid glare
or cold indifference
I know not
but just the same
I felt my blood freeze
stop within my veins
I wished they would burst
and splatter you with
the paint of my pain
you walked right by
never a hesitation
an easy gait
a glide
you must not have felt
the laser beams
of my eyes
penterating your back
burning in to you
or if you did
you never turned around

I stood alone
in the middle of a crowd
wanting desperately to move
to melt
to dethaw
only able to wonder
hadn't we felt the same pain
had our the tears of our closely pressed faces
ran together forming one salty stream
over a bridge that could nver be built
hadn't your twisted face
shown me a perfect picture
of my heart's pain
hadn't we both lingered
trying to catch a final glimpse
of ourselves
in eachothers eyes

but I stood alone
and you walked right by

You will NEVER Find Love in a Cold Heart!

From your poem I felt.., you love him still, what else can you do, his heart, is your will. I can't express the pain you share nor ddo I want it. I am stranger, that is all I am. Yet for you to confide in me the way you do. Oh, I know you must trust me, more than the one you love! I hear your call, you suffer all this pain, yet on you go, and on you go. Surely, this must be a dream. No human loves this way, desiring the touch of ice, saying, forget my life, I need his touch of ice.

Can't comprehend such love, you are more in heart, than he will ever be in dreams, yet still you try, to give a dead dream life! You are in a wilderness, nothing but snow and ice, how brave you are, to seek your quest.

This was a very, very emotionaly based poem. A woman who loves one, who in turn, destroys her, one heart beat at a time!

What can I say, Elizabetta, have you allowed his lack of love to be your need for love? I feel nothing but, see you searching for warmth and love, finding only ICE!

You have reached a poet, Elizabetta, and broke his heart, this was "my heart" and you never knew me, but you reached me, how sad for us both!

Wonderful work, Elizabetta, see where you have taken me, far from where I was. It was a cold trip, but now I'm home, warm arms and smiles, hope your heart finds, such a home.

Love your work!
